Lancashire will face Yorkshire in a Mixed Ability 'Roses' match on Sunday 19th April at Sedgley Park, in a 1.30pm Kick Off. This will be the country's first ever Mixed Ability Rugby county representative game and we hope it will help to fly the flag and raise awareness for the sport. Everyone is welcome. Admission will be £5 and carers will be free.
The Online Match Programme can be found on this link Download
Mixed Ability (MA) Rugby is an inclusive form of the game that brings together players with and without disabilities, regardless of skill or experience to play in a supportive environment. Teams often include people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health challenges, or those looking for a less competitive, more social game. Mixed Ability Rugby is open to anyone over 17 and follows standard 15-a-side full contact rules but with minor adaptations, such as uncontested scrums, to ensure safety and full participation and the focus is on enjoyment, fitness and camaraderie.
Currently, Mixed Ability teams in Lancashire can be found at Bolton, Littleborough and Aldwinians Rugby Clubs. For more information on MA Rugby please email Catherine Jones, Inclusion and Diversity lead for Lancashire RFU Cathj333@hotmail.co.uk
