The RFU Council is a representative body of the Rugby Football Union, with Council members drawn from counties, clubs and referee societies. Its responsibilites include holding the RFU board to account, overseeing governance and driving policy, acting in the best interests of the game as a whole on behalf of RFU members.
As of the end of this season the two Lancashire RFU Council Members, Dave Clarke and Paul Deakin, will come to the end of their current 3-year term. Both are eligible to stand again for a further term.
Nominations for the post of RFU Council Member can be received by the 1st March 2026. Nomination is open to all. Candidates must be proposed by an officer of an RFU voting club and seconded by an officer of a different RFU voting club.
Nominations from proposers and seconders should be submitted on club letterhead signed by an officer of the Club (Chair or Secretary) and emailed to Mark Downs at honsecretary@lancashirerfu.com before 23:59 on the 1st March.
Should a vote be required this will take place at the General Meeting on Wednesday 18th March, 7:00pm at Liverpool St Helens RFC.
